The JUG met at the Parkridge venue at 7:00pm, August 19, 2010. Members present were as follows:

After introductions, the group discussed news in the Joomla! community. Something was mentioned regarding departures of some well recognized community contributors, but none were named.
Joomla! Day DC 2010 was discussed only perpherally and the various associated websites were visited. The JUG portal page was updated with a the URL of a new Facebook page created on the spot by Don Cranford as well as the novajoomla Twitter URL.
Our two new members attending being thirsty for knowledge of using Joomla! more or less drove the rest of the meeting. We discussed selection of extensions for social networking sites, banner ad management, and enhancing site administration. A neighborhood home owner association website was showcased to demonstrate capabilities of Community Builder and its extensibility. Some members discussed the possibility of impromptu meet-ups to assist with newbie members getting their first sites started.
A short conversation about site security ensued as the meeting broke up.
